ABOUT BRANDON STAEBLER
Brandon Staebler has been involved in livestock his whole life. He grew up in a ranching family and was horseback from the time he was a small child. While working for some of the largest purebred cattle ranches he honed his roping and horsemanship skills. After working for a local cow horse trainer, Brandon decided it was time to move forward and go to one of the best. In 2000 he went to work for the Ward Ranch starting colts. Long days riding some great horses there introduced him to the traditional cow horse syle and training. He was hooked.
From the Ward Ranch he went to work for Leonard Whitney and there he had his first NRCHA show horse. While there, Brandon had the opportunity to ride with some of the best horsemen, including Lance Johhnston, in the Central Valley. At his first NRCHA sanctioned show aboard Ima Telesis Too, Brandon was a finalist in the Open, Reserve Limited Open Champion and Champion of the 5,000 Limited Open.
After this initial success in the show pen, Brandon decided it was time to make a go of it on his own. Brandon and his wife, Kris moved to a ranch near Santa Maria, California. During this time he was able to continue learning from the the likes of Barney Skelton, Tom Shelly and Ted Robinson. Brandon was always on the look out for that special 2 year old that he could develop into a futurity horse. Never did he imagine the scrawny little horse dropped off late in his 2 year old year would be the one that would make such an impact on his life and career. Starlight Captain, aka "Goose" and Brandon would be the winning combination for the 2004 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. This win not only solidifed his training methods and techniques to develop a world champion, but launched his career. Staebler Performance Horses was established.
In the Spring of 2011 Staebler Performance Horses relocated to Klamath Falls, Oregon where both Brandon and his wife, Kris grew up. The lure of family and an unlimited supply of cattle made moving back home an easy decision. Not only professionally, but personally, as well. Brandon, Kris and their son Preston now reside at the new facililty.
