What a great weekend at the OQHA 1st show of the year. Andrea and Hook brought their A game to get ready for Ft. Worth in February. The duo won the Am Cowhorse under both sets of judges and won the Am Reining on Friday. The team also picked up some qualifying points in the Sr Cowhorse. Next stop Ft. Worth. New to the team is Madelyn Bloom showing in the youth events. This is her first year showing on the other side of the AQHA shows, moving over from the Pleasure and All-Around events. She is showing one near and dear to our hearts though. She is teamed up with Syno Dyno and this team is going to be one to watch. Only together a very short time, these two made great improvements each time they walked into the show pen. Looking forward to great things from this pair. Nest stop for these two is Rancho Murrietta and the B2B show.

Becca Warner showed Hillbilly Rich to a 10th place tie in the Youth Limited class.Ira Otley stepped up and decided to show in Reno. Borrowing his grandmas gelding, Little Mister Peppy, Ira did an outstanding job for his first time showing under the bright lights of Reno. This young man is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future. We are blessed to have such AWESOME youth involved in our program here at SPH. We know these kids are going to have a fabulous future showing.
SPH Non Pro Limited riders held their own in a tough class of 42 for the 1K NPL class. Becca Warner, showed Hillbilly Rich to a 12th place tie. This was a great showing considering this was the first time Shortcake had been shown ever, and Becca had only ridden him a few times. Haley Grohs and Kiss My Goose had some bobbles but still ended up in the middle of the pack. This outstanding team is getting better and better each time they show.
Peggy Otley showed up with her bum leg and pulled out a check in a huge 5K Limited class. Peggy and Little Mister Peppy placed 9th and added to their earnings. Haley Grohs and Kiss My Goose ended up in a 3 way tie for 15th.
